Skybound reimagines the gym environment as a fun and inviting space

Meet The Founder

Skybound Fitness was born from a simple belief: feeling strong in your body can change everything.

Over the last 10 years as a trainer, I saw too many people wasting time — spinning their wheels in big-box gyms, cookie-cutter bootcamps, or programs that didn’t deliver.

Since then, I’ve helped hundreds of busy professionals build real strength, overcome chronic pain, and finally feel confident in their bodies — often in just 2–3 sessions a week.

Skybound Fitness was built in Malden to deliver elite-level personal training in a small group setting, blending expert coaching with a tight-knit, supportive community. Our average member hits a first push-up or chin-up within 2–3 months, reduces back or knee pain by 50% in under 8 weeks, and reports more energy and confidence across the board.

We don’t guess — we coach with purpose, track real metrics, and build long-term results.

This isn’t just another gym. It’s your launchpad to strength, resilience, and a life that feels better every day.

Meet Your Team

Whoever said “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” was a little off the mark.

We’ll make sure you get farther and faster than alone.

And with a lot more laughs along the way.

Our guiding philosophy as coaches is to consider your health holistically — meaning we look at your progress as more than just numbers.

Evan - Founder + Head Coach

  • NSCA CPT, Precision Nutrition Lvl 1

  • CPR Certified

Favorite Lifts: Chin Ups and Dips

Evan leads with a healthy dose of empathy — but follows up with some straightforward accountability. The type of honesty that can only come from someone who really cares.

With a humor drier than the Sahara Desert (note: Evan is also a big Gordon Ramsay fan), he loves food and talking about the unique psychology around food and nutrition — especially growing up Asian American.

On an off day, you’ll catch him reading non-fiction, spending a weekend hiking in the woods, and watching WWE.

Cat - Coach

  • NSCA CPT

  • CPR Certified

Favorite Lifts: Split Squats and Romanian Deadlifts

Cat loves breaking the mold. As a trained artist, she rebelled against the unspoken rule that artists can’t be athletic. As a former powerlifter, she loves empowering women to find the strength they didn’t know was inside them.

Her Top Gun montage would include hunching over a new art project, shooting a bow and arrow, and planning a movie night with friends.

You’ll feel her fiercely supportive nature as she yells “UP” when you feel your weakest (ie. the bottom of a squat). You’ll always have a cheerleader in Cat.

Erica - Head of Partnerships + Branding

Favorite Lifts: Push ups and Deadlifts 💀

Erica is a creative professional passionate about empowering her community. As a Legend of Zelda fan, she lives by the motto: “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.”

You will immediately be put at ease when talking with Erica about anything, including her journey from art nerd to pull up queen.

Ask her about her unique work history, which includes Journalism, Design, Fine Art and Technology. She’s designed concepts for sports cameras and also restored centuries old oil paintings.

In her free time she can be found reading a cozy mystery novel or sketching with oil pastels.

Favorite Lift: Sled Pulls

Ember has been assistant coaching for many years, and knows exactly what motivates people to reach their highest level of happiness.

The Skybound Way

These are the principles that shape how we train, coach, and live.

  • You don’t need to “get in shape first” to train here. Strength training isn’t just for athletes — it’s for parents, professionals, beginners, and people who’ve been told they “just aren’t gym people.”

  • No fluff. No gimmicks. We believe in doing the fundamentals well — and getting really damn good at them. That’s how results happen.

  • You don’t need another app or shortcut. You need someone who knows your name, your goals, and how to help you get there — one step at a time.

  • You won’t always feel like showing up. That’s okay. We start with action — and let motivation follow.

  • We don’t just train muscles — we train people to support each other, spot each other, and lift each other up in the gym and beyond.

  • Training builds more than muscle. It builds confidence, resilience, and the ability to handle hard things — on and off the gym floor.

  • Respect the space. Respect your training. Respect each other. That’s how community works.

The journey to becoming your strongest self should be a reward—not a punishment.
